ICYMI, DARPA recently renamed two of its technical offices to better reflect how they’re currently tackling technological challenges for present and future national security needs: the Microsystems Technology Office (MTO) is now the Multi X Office, and the Innovation Information Office is now the Information Processing Techniques Office (IPTO).
On June 24, DARPAConnect is bringing leaders from both offices together for a special June Connect Corner designed to help innovators better understand where the offices are headed, their technical thrusts, and what this means for those looking to engage.
Featured Speakers
- Dr. Whitney Mason, Office Director, Multi X Office (MXO)
- Dr. J.F. Mergen, Deputy Director, Information Processing Techniques Office (IPTO)
What This Session Will Cover
- What DARPA’s newly updated MXO and IPTO offices mean for their respective interests and priorities
- How MXO is expanding beyond individual components to shaping the architectures that connect them.
- How IPTO is building on DARPA’s historic legacy in computing and communications while focusing on AI, cybersecurity, privacy, complex systems, resilience, and the future of information processing
- What these changes may mean for performers, researchers, and innovators looking to align breakthrough ideas with DARPA’s evolving areas of focus
- Practical insight to help participants better understand and identify potential pathways for engagement
